Savings and Loan Cooperative: Members, Savings, Loans, and Profit Sharing in One System

A central system for savings and loan cooperatives that previously kept members in Excel and transactions on a separate website for every year. Board members manage members, savings, loans, and profit sharing in one place, trace transaction history across years, and monitor everything from a dashboard.

What is the savings and loan cooperative workflow?

Members join with a principal savings deposit, then pay mandatory savings every month and may deposit or withdraw voluntary savings. Mandatory savings set the loan limit: scheme A up to 1 times total mandatory savings, scheme B up to 5 times with collateral. Loan applications are checked against the limit, approved by the board, disbursed, and given an automatic installment schedule. Members who miss mandatory savings for 6 consecutive months become inactive automatically. At the end of the fiscal year the board enters the net profit and allocation percentages, and the system distributes profit sharing to every member.

Benefits of a central cooperative system

01

Member Database and Multi-Year History

Member data from Excel and transactions from yearly legacy websites are merged into one database. Duplicate rows are removed, each source balance is matched against its old report, and every member history can be traced back to the first year.

02

Savings and Automatic Membership Status

Principal, mandatory, and voluntary savings are recorded per member along with arrears. Members who skip mandatory savings for 6 months become inactive automatically, and the board can still activate or deactivate members manually.

03

Loans with Automatic Limits and Installments

Limits are calculated from total mandatory savings according to the scheme and reduced by outstanding loans. Once approved, the installment schedule is created automatically and late installments are visible right away.

04

Profit Sharing with One Formula for Everyone

The board only enters the net profit and allocation percentages. The system divides capital returns by member savings and business returns by loan interest paid, then keeps the summary per fiscal year.

FAQ

Questions about Savings and Loan Cooperative

How is data moved from Excel and the old websites?

Each source is imported and consolidated: members with the same national ID are merged, transactions with the same receipt number are removed, and the migrated balances are compared with each year of the old system reports before use.

How is the loan limit calculated?

The limit is the member total mandatory savings multiplied by the scheme factor, 1 times for scheme A and 5 times for scheme B, minus the remaining principal of active loans. Inactive members cannot apply for a loan.

Can the cooperative rules be adjusted?

Yes. Savings amounts, the arrears limit, the factor and interest of each scheme, profit sharing allocation, and options such as whether voluntary savings count toward profit sharing are set from the Settings page without changing the app.
